JK Rowling, Harry Potter author, has admitted that she felt suicidal when she was a struggling single mother and writing the first Harry Potter book. Rowling spoke to an Edinburgh student newspaper and revealed that in her mid-twenties, shortly after she separated from her first husband, she felt so low she wanted to die. Whilst JK Rowling has previously said she has depression this is the first time she reveals just how bad it was. JK Rowling said that it was her first baby, Jessica, that gave her the strength to seek help. Link.
